By using this website or making an online booking you agree to these terms & conditions

In these terms and conditions,”We” and “Us” refer to University Stays. “You”, “Your”, “Customer” and “Guest” refer to the person, person(s) or organisation booking and receiving the Service. The College refers to “the Accommodation Provider”.

University Stays acts as booking manager for the College in respect of any bookings made by you. We do not provide, own or run any accommodation and we receive payments from the College for the provision of our booking service.


The person making the online booking must be at least 18 years of age.
In case you are under 18, plan to attend summer school at the University and wish to book accommodation at a College, please contact us by emailing


Groups who booked together will generally be located in rooms within the same area, however occasionally this may not be possible. Bookings made for more than one room can not be split. Amendments and Cancellations can only be made for all rooms included in one booking. We encourage groups of friends to make individual bookings and add a comment that they are travelling together and would like rooms to be located in the vicinity of each other. If you are booking for a group of people or on behalf of someone else, all guest names are to be included in the booking form.


A booking can only be made using Credit Card or Debit Card. Full payment is taken at the time of booking. The amount debited to your Credit Card or Debit Card will be shown before you click the ‘Pay Now’ button. Your credit card provider may charge currency conversion fees on top of our charge, if your card was not issued in Australia.

Refund Policy

  1. Amendments

    Additional nights may be booked through this website. A booking may be amended where the new booking is for the same or increased value by giving two (2) working days notice (Monday to Friday excluding Australian public holidays). Where the booking is reduced in size then cancellation fees apply to the difference in booking value. An amendment can only be made for a booking in the same College. Bookings made for more than one room can not be split. Amendments can only be made for all rooms included in one booking. No change of dates are possible for bookings including DEALS and SPECIALS. Extra nights can be added to an existing DEAL or SPECIAL booking, a reduction in nights is not possible. A booking including a DEAL or SPECIAL can be cancelled (see ‘b. Cancellations’ below).

    We will do our best to accommodate amendments but cannot guarantee that changes can be made, as accommodation may not be available for different dates. A confirmation email will be sent to the guest after the amendment has been processed. An administration fee of $30 Australian will be charged to the guest for each amendment. This is to cover the credit card processing charges and our administration costs.

  2. Cancellations

    If a booking is cancelled, refunds will be processed by University Stays and will be offered to customers on the following basis:

    Notice given prior to commencement of booking Refund
    14 days or more 100% minus A$30 administration fee
    3 to 13 days we charge 1 night accommodation and A$30 administration fee
    1 to 2 days we charge 2 nights accommodation and A$30 administration fee
    (bookings including 31 Dec)
    no refund given for cancellations after 31 October 2015

An administration fee of $30 Australian will be charged by University Stays for any cancellations. Bookings made for more than one room can not be split. Cancellations can only be made for all rooms included in one booking. Usually a refund will be processed within two business days however it may take longer to show up on your bank statement.

Refunds are processed through our secure online payment system to the credit card used at the time of booking.

Room availability

The College reserves the right to cancel your booking within one working day of the booking being made. In this case, you will receive a full refund.


Guests will receive an email confirming their booking. It will inform you of reception hours and the procedure to follow after hours in the event of late arrival.

Check in

You may be required to provide a credit card imprint or equivalent at check-in. The College may also ask you for photo identification at check-in to ensure that your identity matches the booking identity.


Sheets and towels will be supplied. Guests can expect a student room with bed, desk and chair. Photos appearing on the website are examples and the size of rooms and the décor vary considerably.


The nature of University Colleges is to provide adult accommodation. Please be aware that some Colleges may not be able to accommodate children. Any children staying in College accommodation will need close supervision.

Code of Conduct

Guests are expected to abide by the Code of Conduct and respect the College environment.
You are responsible for everyone in your party. You will be charged for any damage or theft caused by anyone included as part of your booking. If guests break the code of conduct staff have the right to remove the guest from the College without issuing a refund.


We will not pass your contact details to anyone other than the College where you have made a booking. By booking with us you consent to the collection, use and transfer of your information under the terms of the Privacy Act 1988.
We may use your information to contact you for your views on our services and to notify you occasionally about important changes or developments to the website or our services. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information on how we deal with your personal information.

Reviews and ratings given on your stay at one of the Colleges may be shown on our website. Reviews may be edited. Only your first name and country will be displayed together with your comments.

Information Confidentiality

As part of the registration process you will select / be issued with a password. You will be responsible for keeping your account password and other access information confidential, and are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your password. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to provide us with accurate information or to keep your password secure.


We take any complaint seriously and try to settle any issues quickly and fairly. If you have a problem while you are at the College, contact reception or in an emergency the after hours contact person. If you are unable to solve the problem by contacting College staff you should email or write to University Stays PO Box 737 Glebe NSW 2037.

Site Information

All College information has been provided by the colleges. We make every effort to ensure the information displayed on our site is accurate, however we are unable to guarantee the site is free of errors or faults.
College room ratings shown on the website are the personal opinion of people who have stayed at the rated college. We do not take responsibility for such opinions.

On our website we provide links to other websites. These third party websites are not under our control, and we cannot accept responsibility for the content or conduct of companies linked to our website.

Site Use

The viewing, printing or downloading of any content, graphic, form or document from the website grants you only a limited, nonexclusive license for use solely by you for your own personal use and not for republication, distribution, assignment, sublicense, sale, preparation of derivative works or other use. No part of any content, form or document may be reproduced in any form or incorporated into any information retrieval system, This site or any portion of this site may not be reproduced, duplicated, copied, sold, resold, or otherwise exploited for any commercial purpose without the express written consent of University Stays.
Any password or right given to you to obtain information or documents is not transferable and may only be used by you.


This site and all information, content, materials, products and services included on this site are provided by University Stays on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. We will not be liable to you for any losses or damages incidental, special or consequential of any kind that may result from use or inability to use our site. We make no warranty or representation as to the fitness or suitability of any product or service displayed on our site. We sell rooms supplied by each College and we do not over-sell the number of rooms. We cannot accept liability for unavailability of rooms caused by a College over-selling its capacity.
By completing a booking on you agree that the College has sole responsibility for delivery of the services being booked by you and that University Stays is not liable for default by the College.


You agree to indemnify us and agree to keep us indemnified and each of our employees indemnified against all actions, claims, demands, losses, costs, damages and expenses in relation to any claim against us arising out of or in connection with services or the management of those services provided by us from time to time.


You release us from all actions, claims, demands, losses, costs, damages and expenses that you may have arising out of or in connection with the services or the management of those services from time to time provided by us.

We reserve the right to change information displayed on our website, including these terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
