Glebe

Glebe is located three kilometres from the Sydney central business district (CBD) with regular buses to the city. Fringed by Blackwattle and Rozelle Bays Glebe has retained many of its grand Victorian homes, Federation houses and modest workers’ cottages. These contribute to the unique character of the suburb. Glebe is an exciting place for residents and visitors alike. In addition to its many restaurants and coffee shops, Glebe Point Road offers a range of alternative health practitioners, shops offering products such as candles, essential oils and herbal remedies and bookshops including the well known Gleebooks which has a new, and second hand and children’s shop.

Glebe markets held on Saturdays is one of Sydney’s most established and well known markets. It has always had an alternative character and style with a lively inner city vibe. Come for the shopping or just come to soak up the atmosphere. Sample the gourmet foods while relaxing on the lawn and listening to the live bands.

Glebe Point Rd is the main road through the suburb, featuring a shopping strip, known for its specialty shops, restaurants and cafés. The Broadway shopping Centre is located just off Glebe Point Rd. The shopping centre includes a food court and cinema complex.

Newtown

King Street Newtown has a large number of cafés, pubs and restaurants offering modern Australian and international cuisine.  Cafes, restaurants and galleries can also be found in the streets surrounding King Street.

King St is the main street of Newtown and centre of commercial and entertainment activity. The street commences near the University of Sydney and extends to the south, becoming the Princes Highway. Newtown has long been a hub for live entertainment. A movie theatre is located at 261 King St, Newtown. Travel there from the city by bus or train.

Camperdown

Camperdown is located four kilometres from the Sydney central business district (CBD). Located within Camperdown are the University of Sydney including the residential Colleges along Missenden Rd, Sancta Sophia College, St John’s College and St. Andrews College. Also found on Missenden Rd is Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. RPAH is one of Sydney’s main teaching hospitals and has featured on the television show RPA. Travel there by bus from the city or catch a train at Newtown station. Café’s are located on Missenden Rd and within the University grounds.
