Our building and facilities are the newest and most modern of the colleges at the University of Sydney. A short walk to both the train station and bus stop Mandelbaum House is located a mere 3km from the CBD.

The neighbouring suburbs of Newtown, Redfern and Glebe are a hive of activity with bustling cafes, restaurants, shops as well as a weekend market. With easy access to public transport getting to the city centre and other Sydney locations such as Bondi Beach, Darling Harbour, Circular Quay (Opera House and Harbour Bridge), and Chinatown could not be easier.

We welcome casual visitors for short or long term stays during the University summer semester break. Whether you are in Sydney to study, work or for a holiday, you will find Mandelbaum House to be a comfortable, secure and friendly place to stay. Our suites are versatile, spacious and ideal for families, couples or groups of up to four people. Our single rooms are ideal for the budget traveller including students, backpackers and Summer School students at the University of Sydney. All of our rooms are spacious, fully furnished (including basin/sink) and include linen.

Please note: Mandelbaum House adheres to the Jewish dietary laws of Kashrut. This means that no meat is allowed (unless it is kosher) no seafood, and no products containing pork or seafood. All fruit and vegetables are fine.
